My Activity Tracking
My target 50 kms
I'm challenging myself to walk, run or roll 50km throughout the month and raise vital funds that will help eradicate and prepare us for a Polio free world.
Polio is the world’s forgotten disease and something that should have been made history a long time ago. Polio is a crippling and potentially fatal infectious disease. There is no cure, but there are safe and effective vaccines. The strategy to eradicate polio is therefore based on preventing infection by immunizing every child until transmission stops and the world is polio-free.
That is why this October we are asking you to Walk With Us for those that can’t.
We are challenging you to walk, run or roll 50km throughout the month and raise vital funds that will help eradicate and prepare us for a Polio free world. A polio-free world does not mean it’s over either. It requires updated vaccination policies, including the phased withdrawal of oral polio vaccines (OPV), appropriate containment of the poliovirus in facilities, the certification that polio has been eradicated, and planning for the transition of knowledge and infrastructure to serve other health goals.
In recent months we have all had to find new ways to stay fit and healthy. Rotary’s Walk With Us End Polio Walk is a fitness challenge that you can complete from October 1st to 31st to reach your target in a COVIDsafe way.
Be part of something special: Walk With Us this October for those that can’t. Be part of the end game strategy and raise funds to help make Polio history so that no child ever again suffers paralytic poliomyelitis.

Increased Fundraising Target
All good things come to an endSaturday 31st Oct I had hoped to complete the 23 2.2km walks with days to spare but due to work and weather it came down to the wire with 4.4kms needed on the last day and thankfully I got it done. I’m pleased to reach my target and even more excited that having started with a modest target of raising $500 I am now just just $10 short of my final target of $1750. So if you can spare a few dollars please hit the donate button as every little bit helps Share
World End Polio DaySaturday 24th Oct So I waited for the rain to stop, the clouds to clear and the sun to begin it’s decent to sunset to go out for my latest 2.2km walk “around the block” on World End Polio Day Saturday 24th October. Thanks to the continued support of sponsors I’m upping my fundraising target from $1500 to $1750 and with 7 days to complete my remaining 8 walks I’m on the home stretch Share
Half WayThursday 15th Oct So I’m on track with 22 of the 50kms complete.
